Finding Form Design builds campaign chairs, a form of furniture with roots in British military tradition, made to disassemble, pack flat, and be put back together anywhere. The chair uses no glue. Leather straps thread through the joints and the weight of the sitter does the tightening. The assembly booklet was designed to accompany each chair.
The booklet serves two contexts: a hands-on reference at the building workshops Finding Form Design runs, and a considered piece included with every purchase. The challenge was to make something that reads clearly under workshop conditions while still feeling worthy of the object it accompanies.
